Chevrolet is the fastest growing car brand I Denmark. With a clear and unique campaigning strategy and very competitive price offers, the American car brand has quickly gained recognition and convinced the Danes that this is a brand that goes beyond just selling American gasoline-guzzling SUV´s. Having positioned Chevrolet as one of the most inexpensive car brands in Denmark – they needed to add more story to the narrative about Chevrolet as a brand.
So this Spring a new, humorous and simple TV-campaign has been launched, showing people doing impressive stunts and tricks in everyday situations – all with the payoff; “There are many ways to impress – Chevrolet does it through the price”.
To support the TV-based campaign - and create a presence and synergy on other relevant platforms - Chevrolet asked GMTN to develop an engaging social media based contest.
The contest, Impress Chevy, is all about impressing the crowd! Through TV-commercials, online ads, YouTube and Facebook, Chevrolet invites all of Denmark to participate in a contest where the best 1-minute film showing an impressive trick or a stunt wins. Or at least the films that get most likes on Facebook are awarded with Ipads and the possibility to get selected by Chevrolet to be shown on National TV!
GMTN developed the identity and overall communication for the competition and supporting elements on the Impress Chevy Youtube-channel, Facebook-page and Chevrolet.dk. The campaign sky rocketed it´s number of FAcebook-fans. In only a few days more that 450 people liked the page and are uploading, debating and liking each others films like crazy.
